Why Does WSD Have An Education Foundation?

As a district and community partner, the Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation has the opportunity to step in and create an alternative funding stream for innovative programs that support student learning but may exceed the district's budget.

How We Do It: With You

WEOF is a collective effort of students, educators, families, alumni, community members as well as community businesses and partners.

A successful foundation means that WE are all invested in the present and future for our students, staff, and schools. In addition to financial investments, WEOF counts on and appreciates

  • time commitments to efforts and events
  • board membership
  • grant proposals for innovative teaching and learning
  • donations or courtesy discounts from local businesses
  • sponsorships and connections to potential sponsors
  • word of mouth support

There are several levels to support the Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation (WEOF): one-time or recurring gifts, staff tribute, directed/restricted giving, EITC tax credit program, individual/corporate matching grants and donations, designation via United Way and more!
