Our Mission
The Foundation is incorporated as a non-profit corporation under the Nonprofit Corporation Law of 1988 for the following purpose.
Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation (WEOF) works to provide funding for programs to foster growth in the intellectual, physical, emotional, social and cultural spheres for our students. The Foundation supports opportunities beyond the scope of traditional school district programming and contributes to the overall improvement of quality education and life in our community.
Our Goals
WEOF strives to invest and cultivate creative ideas that inspire Wissahickon students to grow by providing our teachers with additional resources beyond the limits of the district budget.
- Strengthen and enrich learning through the development of innovative programs
- Support additional training and resources for educators in our district
- Provide the tools to prepare students for future success
- Build community support for our district
Why a Foundation?
Funding for public education is becoming increasingly limited by the constraints of Act 1 and state legislature. While continuing to look for efficiencies within the budget, the district recognizes the importance of looking for outside funding streams and community initiatives to help fund programs that extend beyond the budget. As a community partner, WEOF has the opportunity to support the school district with an alternative funding stream enhance and expand innovative programs for students.
