This application should be used for both Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation (WEOF) and Home and School Association (H&SA) grants. Upon submission, the grant application is forwarded via email to the school principal, WEOF Grants Coordinator, and H&SA Grants Coordinator. The applicant will also receive a confirmation email.
Successful proposals will meet all or most of the following criteria:
- Fosters growth in the intellectual, physical, emotional, social and cultural spheres of the student
- Includes a clear, identifiable, relevant purpose which enhances the WSD curriculum through unique and innovative instructional approaches that engage students
- Promotes the socialization and self-esteem of students
- Support co-curricular/extra-curricular activities
- Promotes a positive school community culture
- Benefits a great number of students (e.g., team, grade level, department or school) or a population with unique learning needs
Exclusions: clothes and food/snacks
Middle & High School: If approved by the school principal, grants over $600 and/or involving technology will be forwarded to WEOF for funding consideration. Approved grants for $600 or less will be forwarded to the school’s H&SA for funding consideration.
HELPFUL HINT: It is strongly encouraged for district staff have proactive conversations with their building principals or department leaders to ensure feasibility and alignment of the grant request with the school-based and district-based goals and priorities.
